Mesmerizing Firefly Photography in Ohio and the Great Smokies

My firefly photos are the result of hundreds of individual long-exposure photos taken over hours. Those images are stacked to produce one final image that represents all the flashing over the course of an evening. In this timelapse, the landscape does not grow darker with the night because it’s a single image stacked behind the images of the firefly flashes. #fireflies #synchronousfireflies #greatsmokies #smokies
