Wisdom is officially a mom - AGAIN! Wisdom, the local celebrity of Midway Atoll National Wildlife Refuge, is the oldest known seabird at approximately 74 years old. A couple months ago, the Laysan albatross was spotted with her mate and a new egg, and last week, it finally hatched! Fun fact: albatrosses take turns parenting. While one is off hunting for food, the other cares for the chick - until they switch! Scientists estimate that Wisdom has previously laid around 60 eggs and raised about 30

At Nomwin Atoll in Chuuk State, we found a wonderful underwater forest. But instead of plants, this forest is made entirely of animals! In this living forest, hundreds of whip corals grow close together, creating an excellent habitat for marine species to find shelter and hunt for food.
