The 4-Faced River Prepares for the Water Festival The Water Festival is one of the biggest national holidays in Cambodia. After a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival returns in 2023 and will be held Nov. 26 through 28. The celebrations whose main event is boat racing (boun oum touk in Khmer) include lantern and lit scenes floating in boats on rivers and lakes, moon worshiping (sampeah preah khe), and special offerings made to the moon (ok ambok).
