On this New Year's Eve, the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound shares with us this 8mm home movie reel shot at a 1961 NYE party in a basement rumpus room in Knoxville. These couples seem to behaving a good time as they dance the Twist, and even the family cat wants to cut in on a slow dance. As most home movies are silent, we can't be sure what records these folks are actually listening to, but we added music by East Tennessee's own Luke Brandon, the 1959 7-inch single "Tuff-E-Nuff"! |
