Last night I had balut for the first time on this vacation — but I actually tried it years ago in a Filipino restaurant in New York City. My first reaction then (and still now): the broth tastes like chicken soup. 🙌 Now… I know balut can throw some people off. But I’m a man who loves agriculture, I’ve raised animals (especially chickens), and I’m a big foodie — so the “exotic” part doesn’t scare me. What matters is the tradition and the taste.
