The Guardians beat the Tigers, the Padres beat the Cubs, and the Yankees beat the Red Sox today to force Game 3s tomorrow in those series. The Dodgers defeated the Reds to advance to the NLDS, where they will face the Phillies.

Bullpen dramatics aside, the Dodgers made it look easy against the Cincinnati Reds. But their next opponent presents more of a challenge.

Wednesday's late finish of the Dodgers vs. Reds series prompted MLB to move Cleveland's Game 3 showdown with Detroit back by two hours.

Chasing their first playoff victory since 2012, the Cincinnati Reds instead watched the season slip away Wednesday night. The Reds were eliminated from the National League Wild Card round with an 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2.

LOS ANGELES − In his postseason debut, Matt McLain looked like the player the Cincinnati Reds expected throughout 2025. Facing the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sept. 30, McLain was the only Reds player to record multiple hits. He doubled, singled and scored a run in Cincinnati's 10-5 loss at Dodger Stadium.
