Some 53 million U.S. adults are Catholic, according to U.S. Census Bureau data from 2024, which makes up around 20 percent of the country's population.
Referring to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Trump said the discussion will focus on "stopping the bloodbath."
Vice President JD Vance met Sunday in Rome with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as the Trump administration continues to push for a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine. The meeting at the U.S. ambassador’s residence — which was also attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio — came as the world leaders attended the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV.
