Tuesday was a big day for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who formally introduced Mike McCarthy as their new head coach and Mike Tomlin’s successor. It’s a homecoming of sorts for McCarthy, who was born and raised in Pittsburgh and grew up a Steelers fan.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers officially introduced new head coach Mike McCarthy on Tuesday, marking a new era for the team after 19 years of Mike Tomlin at the helm. McCarthy gave some legitimately insightful answers during his first press conference about his philosophy and how it will translate to the Steelers’ roster.

McCarthy said that he has already spoken with Rodgers, who said prior to the 2025 season that it would likely be last. He was non-committal, however, about his plans for 2026 following Pittsburgh's season-ending loss to the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card round.
