A severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Norman at 08:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 22.

Millions from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska are under severe weather threat. In St. Louis, Missouri, families are cleaning up after devastating storms in recent days. NBC News’ Shaquille Brewster is there.

Large areas of north Georgia and metro Atlanta experienced severe thunderstorm warnings or tornado warnings. There were several damage reports as well, including many areas that had wind damage and a few with hail.

Heavy downpours and hail covered Franklin as strong storms blew through Middle Tennessee, bringing severe weather and the possibility of tornadoes. Street cameras in Franklin showed heavy rainfall and large hail falling along Downs Boulevard and Highway 96 at about 4:30 p.m.

Some homes in eastern Colorado were badly damaged after multiple tornadoes touched down in parts of Adams County and Elbert County.
