Hawaii National Guard members walked through the mud to check on residents in this area off of Farrington Highway in the outskirts of Waialua.

In an afternoon update, Hawaiian Electric said crews have begun assessments of some circuits that were 'proactively turned off' due to flooding on Oahu's North Shore.

Raging waters lifted homes and cars and prompted evacuation orders for 5,500 people north of Honolulu on Saturday.
