Tennessee Titans star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons commented on Terrell Williams landing the defensive coordinator position with the New England Patriots. Simmons had some of his best seasons under Williams.

The Patriots are reportedly set to hire Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams as the new defensive coordinator.

The New England Patriots are set to hire Riley Larkin as an offensive assistant. This was reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Friday afternoon. Larkin served as the Ohio State Buckeyes offensive assistant in the quarterbacks room during their national championship run.

The New England Patriots have hired Terrell Williams as the team's defensive coordinator, the team said Wednesday.

The 50-year-old Williams coached defensive line for Mike Vrabel for six seasons in Tennessee, also serving as the team’s assistant head coach for Vrabel’s final season.

Williams will join offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer on head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff. He worked with Vrabel for six years (2018-2023) with the Tennessee Titans, and was most recently a defensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Detroit Lions this past year.

The New England Patriots have turned over a good percentage of their coaching staff from 2024 to 2025, including Terrell Williams replacing DeMarcus Covington as the team's defensive coordinator. Williams joins New England with 27 years of coaching experience split between 14 in college and 13 in the NFL.
