While warm, rain chances are set to return today. It doesn't look like it will be a lot, with most seeing less than a tenth of an inch of rain today. There remains a low storm chance, with places north of Pittsburgh having the 'higher' chance for seeing a storm or two.
Rain moves out this morning after a wintry mix in northern areas, followed by mild, breezy conditions today before another rain and snow system arrives late Thursday into Friday.
Any rain early Friday transitions to wet snow, with the heaviest snow expected NORTHWEST of the Fox Valley where 2 to 6 inches of accumulation is possible. Again, this is a First Alert Weather Day — plan on possibly difficult travel and wet, heavy snow that might bring down tree branches and cause power issues.
The city of Los Angeles has extended its evacuation warnings for residents near the Palisades, Hurst and Sunset burn areas.
Rain and snow will slow Wednesday's evening commute, prompting StormTeam 5 to issue a Weather Alert. "We have this rain changing into snow, which is really going to impact the Wednesday evening commute," StormTeam 5 Meteorologist Mike Wankum said. "Watch out, there could be some slick roads out there, especially after dark."
The Valley saw its first round of rain overnight and into Tuesday morning, with some areas seeing a quarter-inch of rain or more.
