More than 300 people spent Monday at the Greater Chicago Food Depository for the MLK Day of Service. "It's really great to see the younger generation come out to give back to the community," said spokesperson Man Yee Lee. "As Dr. King said himself, everyone is great and everyone has the ability to serve."

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday observed on the third Monday in January each year as a way to recognize the civil rights icon and his messages of Black empowerment and racial equality.
