WASHINGTON >> President Donald Trump’s administration said today it is suing four Democratic-led states to prevent them from enforcing “burdensome and ideologically motivated” laws and pursuing lawsuits against the fossil fuel industry over the harms caused by climate change.

The lawsuits mark the administration’s latest attack on climate action in the name of “energy dominance” and has raised fears about states’ ability to pursue action against polluters.

The order instructs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which distributes funding to PBS and NPR stations, to "cease direct funding" to them.

The move marks Trump’s latest effort to handicap an organization whose mission or viewpoints he has disagreed with.
