Microsoft has kicked off October by announcing a significant price rise for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which comes just over a year after the last price rise for the subscription service.

Xbox Series X consoles have been hit with even larger increases, as the price of the all-digital Xbox Series X is set to increase from $549.99 to $599.99, while the standard Xbox Series X with a disc drive will go from $599.99 to $649.99. Yes, you read that correctly — an Xbox Series X will now set you back almost $700.
