PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Cody Glass scored a goal in his first game with the New Jersey Devils and helped his new team defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 on Sunday.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The newest Devils acquistions made an impact on Sunday afternoon against the Flyers. Cody Glass picked up a goal and was +2. Daniel Sprong had a +1 rating with three shots on goal as New Jersey held on for a 3-1 win. Erik Haula and Dawson Mercer scored the other Devils goals.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Alex Ovechkin scored his 886th career goal into an empty net to seal the Washington Capitals’ 4-2 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Sunday, moving nine back of breaking Wayne Gretzky’s NHL record and helping the Eastern Conference leaders win their fourth game in a row.

Though Sunday’s game between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers took place in the City of Brotherly Love, many visiting fans made the 90-120 minute drive up the Jersey Turnpike in hopes of making their presence known.

They have now been outscored, 17-6, in their last four games. They ended the weekend, including a game against the Seattle Kraken, with just two goals to show for it.
