Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline said Sunday that he thinks Shaw could very well be in the running for Rookie of the Year if he is given 140+ games for the Cubs . 140+ games could be considered a lot for a player who has never had an at-bat in MLB, but if the Cubs want to be successful in 2025, they may very well need Shaw to play in that many games.

Two-way star Shohei Ohtani did not play in either of LA's first two Spring Training games, and he was again absent from the lineup on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals. The 2024 National League MVP served exclusively as LA's designated hitter last season, but has been throwing bullpens in preparation for a return to the mound.
The pitching matchup between the Cubs and Dodgers will be Shota Imanaga and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The game will take place at the Tokyo Dome on March 18.
