Avelo Airlines announced this week that it will cease flights from Salem next month. Service from Eugene, Redmond and Medford will end in early December. The move is part of the low-cost carrier’s retreat from Oregon, California, Washington and Montana, which Avelo blamed on financial pressures.

Avelo Airlines said that it will be shutting down locations in California, Oregon, Washington and Montana due to financial strain.

Avelo said leaving Burbank was unrelated to its controversial contract with ICE. Backlash against the contract nor the contract itself has impacted Avelo’s business, the carrier said.
