The Internal Revenue Service announced Tuesday that more than 1.1 million people across the nation have unclaimed refunds for tax year 2021 with an April 15 deadline to submit their tax returns.
The IRS estimated that over $1 billion in tax refunds remain unclaimed by taxpayers who haven't filed their federal tax return, known as Form 1040, for the 2021 tax year.
