Ukraine accused Russia of breaching the Easter truce that was announced without prior warning by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday, with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky accusing Putin of only being interested in PR.

Russia launched a fresh wave of attacks on Ukraine overnight Monday, Ukraine’s Air Force said, after both Moscow and Kyiv accused each other of violating an Easter ceasefire that President Vladimir Putin unilaterally announced on Saturday.

Swift return to major hostilities and violations of truce appear to bode ill for efforts to secure long-term ceasefire.
