A tropical disturbance is bringing heavy rain to the Gulf Coast, putting millions at risk of flash flooding through the weekend. CBS News' Kati Weis has the latest.

The National Weather Service reported on Friday morning that moisture associated with the tropical system would bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to parts of Southeast Texas, with the potential for isolated, locally heavy rainfall in areas east of I-45 through Saturday morning.

A tropical disturbance in the Gulf is set to dump heavy rain in the South as the Northeast braces for more flooding. The tropical system in the Gulf has a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression, and if it strengthens enough to a named storm, it would be dubbed Dexter.
