Despite spending years in various major promotions including WCW, TNA and WWE, it appears that Sting holds his AEW stint closest to his heart.
While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Sting was asked if he ever thought he would be in the wrestling industry for over four decades, with the Hall Of Famer noting that he never understood old guys hanging around in the industry.
Sting also praised AEW president Tony Khan, crediting him as a driving force behind the success of his farewell run. He added, “He was the best. He was phenomenal. He treated me like gold the whole way through. If it wasn’t for Tony, I wouldn’t have had the run that I had — and Darby, my partner.”
