After a two-week hiatus, “Saturday Night Live” returned with a new episode Dec. 6, 2025, with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Dijon, marking McCarthy’s sixth time hosting, her first since 2017, and Dijon’s “SNL” debut.

Alexander Skarsgard served as the host of the sketch-comedy series' mammoth 1,000th regular episode. Cardi B served as musical guest.

The comedy show returned from hiatus on January 17 with Host Finn Wolfhard, Musical Guest A$AP Rocky, and surprise appearances from Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sabrina Carpenter, and Jason Momoa. Newly Oscar-nominated Teyana Taylor hosted on January 24 with Musical Guests Geese, helping us to laugh through the cold dark nights of winter.

"Saturday Night Live" mocked ICE during the show's "Weekend Update" segment on Saturday and questioned the agency's tactics following another shooting in Minneapolis.

The Jan. 31 episode also featured musical guest Cardi B and cameos by the host's dad, Stellan Skarsgård, as well as Pete Davidson and Jack McBrayer.

Kevin Hart elicited some apparent confusion from "Saturday Night Live" honcho Lorne Michaels with his impression of an NBA player who wasn't widely known.
