Roger Federer made his tennis return with a win over a highly-ranked Australian Open star as fans all made the same point. Federer called time on his storied career in 2022 after winning an impressive 20 Grand Slam titles, including six titles at the Australian Open.
Roger Federer has returned to the Australian Open this year to participate in an exhibition match for the inaugural Opening Ceremony.
Federer, who will play in an exhibition match on Saturday with fellow former world No.1 Andre Agassi, Pat Rafter and Lleyton Hewitt, delighted fans during a practice session against Casper Ruud. Despite being 44 years of age and retired for over three years, the 20-time grand slam champion showed he’s still got it.
Roger Federer will grace the Australian Open once again when he takes part in an exhibition match at the opening ceremony ahead of the 2026 event.
