Ice dancers were assigned a 90s theme for the rhythm dance this season
Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates are looking up at the French team of Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry after the first day of competition.
The three-time world champions and two-time Olympic gold medalists in the team event placed second with a score of 89.72. The American duo is only behind by a small margin, though, as the French pair of Fournier Beaudry and Cizeron scored 90.18 on their rhythm dance routine.
