Police said speed was a factor in a deadly crash in Apex Sunday night that killed one teenager and hurt two others.

A 16-year-old passenger was killed Sunday night in a crash off U.S. Highway 64 near Shepherds Vineyard Drive in Apex. Two other teenagers were injured, including the driver, who faces charges.

The wreck occurred about 10:30 p.m. Sunday near Knollwood Drive, police said. The teens' names weren't released.
