Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s dog, who was found partially mummified alongside the deceased couple in their Santa Fe home, died from dehydration and starvation, according to a report.

There was no evidence of infectious disease, trauma or poisoning that could have resulted in death, according to a New Mexico Department of Agriculture report.

Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa, along with their dog, Zinna, were found dead in their New Mexico home. Hackman died from heart disease and Alzheimer's, while Arakawa passed away from hantavirus. Zinna likely succumbed to starvation and dehydration.
