While WWDC doesn’t usually pack the same punch as the company’s fall iPhone launch event, it’s historically been an important milestone for Apple AAPL — showcasing the company’s software innovation and sometimes its more low-profile hardware products.
Apple will likely focus on the next iOS, which is rumored to have the most significant design change since the introduction of iOS 7.
A prime example is Microsoft Recall, a feature meant to record the user's screen and index the information to make it searchable with AI. It was announced in May 2024 and initially supposed to be released to the public in June 2024, but was delayed several times for privacy reasons, finally launching in preview in April 2025.
Apple will be concentrating its Apple Intelligence launches at WWDC 2025 on developer tools, and wide-ranging translation for users, including live translation via AirPods.
The keynote for WWDC 2025 takes place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California on Monday, June 9 at 1 p.m. ET. It is keynote is set to be streamed on Apple TV, the Apple YouTube page and on apple.com.
The world is full of languages — more than 7,000 in all. Apple supports dozens of these in iOS, which among them reach the vast majority of people.
