Firefighters in North Texas are bracing for an increased risk of grass and brush fires as strong winds and dry conditions create hazardous conditions across the region. The Fort Worth Fire Department said they've added extra staffing and deployed specialized brush trucks to respond quickly to potential fires.

Windy and dry conditions are expected to continue Wednesday in the Dallas area. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office has issued a wind advisory for the area, which will last until 9 p.m. The Weather Service has also placed Dallas-Fort Worth at an elevated wildfire risk,
