MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Police Department said its officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South at about 2:33 a.m. on Friday.

Minneapolis Police were on the scene of an incident in South Minneapolis overnight, where one person was killed in an apparent shooting.

Officers responded to a shooting near Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South around 2:30 a.m. Friday. Police found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. They immediately began performing CPR. He was transported by EMS to Hennepin Healthcare where he later died.
