Rain finally eases over Hawaii after historic flooding from back-to-back Kona lows
Although rain has finally departed over Hawaii, flood concerns remain after back-to-back Kona low systems unleashed historic rainfall across parts of the state. The heavy rain led to a Flash Flood Emergency over the northern shores of Oahu Friday,
State offices and operations statewide will reopen following the severe weather brought by the recent Kona Low storm system. While the immediate threat from the storm has passed, recovery efforts continue across the islands as state and county crews assess damage, clear debris and restore impacted infrastructure.
A remnant band of moisture will linger over Oahu, Maui County and Hawaii Island through Monday night, but the worst has ended as a kona low slowly moves away to the northeast. A Flood Watch remains up for Hawaii Island through 6 a.

More flooding expected in Hawaii from another Kona low
