By Neha Arora (Reuters) -Indian metals-to-oil conglomerate Vedanta said on Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump's doubling of aluminium tariffs to 50% poses a threat to the Indian industry already struggling with surging imports.

India has already issued a formal notice at the World Trade Organization (WTO) signalling its intention to impose retaliatory tariffs on US goods in response to the earlier steel tariffs.

India weighs legal challenges to Trump tariffs as it begins trade pact talks with the US this week. Uncertainties around tariffs and a potential interim deal are key concerns.
