Deidra Reese, an activist and member of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, told The Dispatch that the goal of the demonstration was to "remind folks that there are people out there who care." Reese also said that the collective believes in the late Lewis' legacy as a fierce advocate for civil rights for all people.
