The developer of well-received Steam Early Access first-person shooter Fortune's Run has ceased work on the game after receiving a three-year prison sentence. In a shock announcement on the Fortune’s Run Steam page,

The Fortune's Run developer known only as Dizzie has revealed that development on the game will end...because they're going to prison.

Announced originally during the Realms Deep event in 2021, and later released into Early Access on Steam in 2023, Fortune's Run is a highly rated immersive-sim FPS but now its future is uncertain.

After a little over a year in early access on Steam, indie sci-fi FPS Fortune's Run might not be receiving any new updates for a while - and according to the immersive sim's lead developer, the reason behind this indefinite pause lies within a prison sentence.
