Shohei Ohtani allowed an early run in his pitching debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but quickly made up for it with two clutch hits and a pair of RBIs in a 6-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Monday night.

His first pitch was a 97.6 mph fastball low in the strike zone that Fernando Tatis Jr. fouled off. Ohtani got Tatis to swing and miss at a 98.3 mph fastball before the Padres right fielder hit an inside 99 mph pitch for a single. Tatis advanced to second on a wild pitch, which was clocked at 100.2 mph.
